It's not unheard of to hear people talk two different Gods in the Bible, the angry and wrathful God of the Old Testament and the loving and forgiving God of the New Testament.

In this course, Luther Seminary professor Rolf Jacobson wants us to consider that there is only one God, and the differences we see reflected in these two caricatures are not only reconcilable, but are placed there by God to help us more deeply understand God's nature.

Rolf helps us understand that God's anger toward God's children is somewhat analogous to our anger at our own children, especially when our own children do harm to others. Rolf also points out that God's anger is temporary compared with God's love, which is eternal.

How long will it take me to complete this course? It will take an average student about 45 minutes to complete this course. You can pause at any time and come back. You can even re-take lessons. Each course features 3-6 video lectures that are from 5-7 minutes in length.
